Days 1–3

Ubud — The Spiritual Heart

Arrive into the jungle interior. Ubud is rice terraces, Hindu temples, traditional dance, and healing energy. Your villa is above the Ayung River gorge. The frogs are loud. It is perfect.

Day 4

Mount Batur Sunrise Trek

Wake at 2am. Headlamp on. Two-hour climb through darkness. Reach the crater rim as dawn turns the sky pink. Volcano below you, clouds at your feet, Java visible on the horizon.

Days 5–7

Canggu & The Coast

Down from the hills to the southwest coast. Canggu: surf breaks, rice paddies between beach clubs, the world's most photogenic sunsets, and a food scene that punches far above its location.

Days 8–9

Seminyak & Departure

Final days in Seminyak — Bali's most refined corner. Luxury shopping, spa day, and the Potato Head beach club at sunset. Your driver takes you to the airport at whatever hour the flight demands.

"The healing ceremony was genuinely transformative."

I booked this trip somewhat sceptically about the "wellness" aspects. The Balinese healing ceremony with our balian changed something in me. I cannot fully explain it. Go with an open mind.

"Batur at dawn. No words. Just go."

We nearly skipped the volcano trek because the 2am start terrified us. We did it. We stood on the crater rim and watched the sun rise over East Java. Best decision of my travelling life.

"Our private villa above the gorge was paradise."

Komaneka at Bisma is extraordinary. Waking up with clouds below you and jungle in every direction. The sounds at night. The breakfast on your private terrace. We did not want to leave.

Common Questions

Tour FAQs

Yes — Bali is one of the most welcoming destinations for solo female travellers in Asia. It has a long history of independent female visitors. Our researcher Priya travels Bali solo regularly and will brief you on the specific areas and situations to be aware of.
May to September is the dry season — ideal for all activities, especially the volcano trek and surfing. October to April brings rain (often brief afternoon downpours), which makes Ubud lush and atmospheric but can affect beach days. We visit year-round.
Bali (unlike much of Indonesia) is generally welcoming and relaxed. Resort areas of Seminyak, Canggu, and Ubud have thriving, visible communities. Public displays of affection should be moderate out of respect for the local Hindu culture, as with any couple regardless of orientation.
Easily — 30-minute fast boat from Bali to Gili Trawangan or Gili Air. We can extend the itinerary by 3–4 days to include the Gili Islands (no cars, white sand, exceptional snorkelling) or Lombok's Rinjani volcano trek.
